If you’ve had enough of standing around whilst people wearing sheets or flashing devil horns drink warm, watery punch out of a plastic cauldron, you might just be interested

With a team of highly professional performers and years of experience in the rather macabre world of the murder mystery, the people at After Dark certainly know how to put on a show.

Manchester235 is celebrating both Halloween and its eighth birthday with Four Funerals and a Wedding, one of After Dark’s Criminal Cabaret shows. It certainly promises to be a party with more style and substance than the usual Halloween fare.

If you’ve had enough of standing around whilst people wearing sheets or flashing devil horns drink warm, watery punch out of a plastic cauldron, you might just be interested.

It’s not just goosebumps on offer with the Criminal Cabaret shows. It’s about good times too with an eclectic mix of song and dance, clues and comedy as well as murder, mystery and music.

Scenes of evidence are presented between the courses of a three-course meal which at Manchester235’s Halloween spectacular truly will be a dinner to die for, catered by James Martin Manchester.

The murder mystery comes to life around you as suspects mingle with guests and you get the chance to test out your little grey cells. Can you give Poirot a run for his money? Are you able to teach Sherlock Holmes a thing or two?

Question the larger-than-life characters as the story unfolds, guided by only your instincts and the all-knowing inspectre who hands out hints, reveals the murderer in a dramatic climax and finally rewards any dedicated detectives who managed to sniff out the truth.

Nightmarish nuptials are the theme of Four Funerals and a Wedding, the event being held at Manchester235 on Friday 31 October. There’s a killer on the loose and a stricken bride in desperate need of something old, something new, something borrowed and a clue.

Whether you fancy yourself as a budding Miss Marple or whether you prefer to just enjoy the show, Halloween at Manchester235 is certainly an original way to avoid the trick-or-treaters.
