DUKES 92 HAS NOW RE-OPENED BUT ALBERT'S REMAINS CLOSED.
ALBERT'S SHED restaurant in Castlefield has been struck down by fire.
"We'll open again as soon as possible, the beer might be a touch warm, mind."
The fire started at the sister venue to Dukes92 at around 11am on Thursday 17 July, by midday it appeared that the fire service had the situation under control.
James Ramsbottom, proprietor of Albert's Shed and Dukes92, told Confidential that the fire had been caused by a deep fat fryer.
"The fire started with a deep fat fryer. Luckily nobody has been hurt during the incident, the building was evacuated very quickly.

"We're just waiting to see what the fire service have to say about the damage, obviously we're closed for the near future but we'll be back open as soon as we can.
"I'd like to thank the fire service for dealing with this as quickly as they have, it could have been much worse."
As Ramsbottom finished, in good 'ole British Bulldog spirit, one of the barmen chipped in: "We'll open again as soon as possible, the beer might be a touch warm, mind."
