Claudio and Emily Ribeiro open their second site on the corner of Quay Street on April 12th
One of Northern Quarter's most popular brunch spots has revealed an opening date for their new site on Deansgate.
The new Federal, located on the corner with Quay Street, will open on Friday 12th April, after regular queues outside their original branch on High Street inspired the owners to look for new premises.
Expect their signature NZ-style eggs, banana bread and Portuguese pastel de natas (custard tarts)
Speaking about the opening, husband and wife co-owners Claudio and Emily Ribeiro said:
“We’ve been so humbled by the reception we’ve had so far in Northern Quarter, the fact we have queues forming outside every weekend is such a huge compliment to us and our fantastic team. Our customer service is so important to us and we aim to bring that with us from the NQ, we know we can offer the warmest welcome alongside great coffee.”
“We’ve had so many comments since we opened four years ago asking when we’re going to open a second that we had no choice but to start looking around. After a couple of sites we liked the look of, this one came along and we knew it was perfect. It’s taken a couple of months to get here but now we can see the end, we can’t wait to get the doors open."
The Ribeiros say all of their most popular dishes - including their much-loved NZ-style eggs, banana bread and signature Portuguese pastel de natas (custard tarts) - will make the journey, as will their ‘Hodson’ coffee blend from New Zealand roasters, Ozone.
A light and airy space, the 35-cover unit will include 'window perches', a cork-fronted bar (a nod to Claudio’s native Portugal) and a little more room to breathe than their small 'but perfectly formed' Northern Quarter base.
Federal Deansgate opens on Friday 12th April at 194 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3ND.
