Eden Square Activities For Kids

TO celebrate the release of the new Spiderman movie, Urmston’s Eden Square will play host to summer activities for children starting on Saturday 7 July with a superhero themed Arty Party.

"Finding ways to keep youngsters entertained during the summer holiday can be a bit of a challenge, so these events are a great way for families to enjoy the summer together."

The craft workshop, which is free and open to children of all ages, will run from 11am – 4pm giving youngsters the chance to make their own masks, door hangings and other creative pieces modelled on their favourite caped crusaders.

The Superhero Arty Party will be followed by a Superhero Treasure Hunt on Saturday 21 July, where families will get the chance to win prizes while hunting for treasure around Eden Square.

The Superhero themed activities will then give way for Eden Square to introduce children to the world of ‘mini-beasts’, with a gardening fun workshop and bug hunt on Saturday 18 August. A garden expert will be on hand to answer garden related questions, while participants hunt for bugs around the square.

Eden Square will also be hosting a cupcake decorating class on Saturday 25 August, fun for children and parents alike, with an expert showing young bakers how to decorate cupcakes using tasty edible flowers and cute bugs.

Leon Guyett, senior development executive at Ask, the developers behind Eden Square, said: “Following on from the success of last year’s event programme, we’ve once again put together a fantastic line-up of fun, creative activities at Eden Square that kids and parents will love.

“Finding ways to keep youngsters entertained during the summer holiday can be a bit of a challenge, so these events are a great way for families to enjoy the summer together – we’re expecting a big turn-out.”

All summer activities will be free of charge and will take place on Eden Square.
