MANCHESTER - the home of British cycling - is set to host cycling's 'coolest consumer show' this summer, as SPIN Cycling Festival hits Trafford's Victoria Warehouse from 6-8 May.
Manchester is amongst the world leading cities for cycling, so it was an obvious choice when we wanted to bring our established show out of London
Showcasing over 100 cycling brands, from the cream of the international crop to smaller indie and start-ups, the show celebrates all things cycling, fashion, design, innovation and culture.
On show will be cutting-edge bikes from the likes of Cinelli, Brompton, Boardman alongside newer independent companies such as Shand, Pure Fix & Hiplok.
There'll also be art installations, film premieres, cycling workshops and experiences (including the UK's largest indoor pop-up test track), alongside DJs, food, booze and a taste of the city's annual coffee festival, Cup North.
Alex Daw, show director for event organisers, Mercury Events, said: “The SPIN cycling Festival offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional trade and consumer show.
"Manchester is amongst the world leading cities for cycling, so it was an obvious choice when we wanted to bring our established show out of London.
"Manchester is a very cool city and SPIN juxtaposes the most progressive international traders with art installations, cyclic experiences, music and food, sharpening the focus on the urban cycling scene, road cycling and what’s new to 2016. SPIN has created an unrivalled mix of cycling culture, featuring the leading industry heavyweights, as well as lesser known independent brands and innovative start-ups.”
Occassional cyclist, Jonathan Ross, said: "It's wheely great."
