Some of Greater Manchester's most influential bands and artists are coming together to play a homelessness benefit gig at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in May.
Headlined by the Courteeners, the 'Raise the Roof' gig line-up includes Stockport indie upstarts Blossoms, Manc grime king Bugzy Malone, soul star Lisa Stansfield and the 'bard of Salford' - John Cooper Clarke.
Hosted by Radio X's DJ Sunta Templeton, the event - which will raise money for the Mayor's homelessness scheme, A Bed Every Night - will also feature guests spots from a number of TV, sport and entertainment faces.
To be in with a chance of bagging a pair of tickets, you must text 'RAISE' to 84988 before midday on Friday 3rd May. Gigs goers will be asked to make a £10 donation to the fund.
Courteeners frontman Liam Fray (pictured top) said: “Rough sleeping on the streets of Greater Manchester is a crisis all of us need to confront and by joining forces we can really make a difference.”
Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, said: “Greater Manchester is the only city-region trying to give everyone somewhere to go every night. Our A Bed Every Night scheme has been running since November and has helped over 500 people off the streets. But to keep it going, we urgently need to raise more funds.
“Just as Vincent Kompany has brought the football world behind our campaign, it is brilliant to see our music industry and supporting business industries stepping forward with ‘Raise The Roof’."
