The creators of La Discothèque present Puffin Box – a unique, socially safe night out

The live music and events scene has been really creative during the recent lockdown, pulling together to put on a number of streamed live events and DJ sets, but if you’ve been missing the real thing, we’ve got some great news for you.

The creators of La Discothèque are launching Puffin Box, a new 90-minute mini-clubbing experience in your own social bubble. The new ‘rave in a box’ concept is housed in the basement of the Northern Quarter’s creative community hub, Hilton House and will launch on the 7th August.

Expect the very best light, sound and music with takeovers from both renowned local and international club brands and DJ collectives each session

Set against an industrial backdrop, the venue will hold five cubed ‘Puffin Boxes’ which surround live DJs and performers. With a Green Room vibe, the boxes will hold up to eight guests (from the same social bubble) at a time and are complete with a fully stocked fridge of pre-ordered drinks packages, comfy sofas, poseur table and dancefloor space.

Each session will have a maximum capacity of 40 guests, and at the end of each session the boxes will be cleaned before welcoming the next set of guests. To maximise health and safety, other measures include a one-way entry-exit system and two-metre rule in queues.

At the core of Puffin Box is supporting music, hospitality and events industry workers with paid work whilst simultaneously creating a safe environment for music lovers to come together. A place to socialise with friends and family, dance to music and enjoy clubbing culture once again within a controlled venue that strictly adheres to government social distancing regulations.

Expect the very best light, sound and music with takeovers from both renowned local and international club brands and DJ collectives each session; with an eclectic music offering from disco, soul and funk to hip-hop, house and techno.

Confirmed takeovers across August include Hit & Run, Kaluki, Funkademia, Joy Social vs High Hoops, Zutekh, So Flute, Ghosts of Garage, Bad Fun, Hip Hop / Hula, Love Dose and La Discothèque.

We’ll be partnering with loads of amazing artists, collectives and brands, both local and international, we can’t wait to reveal it all very soon.
