Scottish 'punk' brewers say new site will boast onsite brew kit and ‘amazing’ spaces
Scottish craft beer brewers BrewDog have revealed plans to open a new BrewPub in Manchester, following the success of their Peter Street bar, which opened in 2012.
Discussing international expansion at their annual general meeting in Aberdeen at the weekend, the crowdfunded company announced it was to unleash a new litter of BrewDogs across the globe, including sites in Manchester, London, Paris, Scotland, the USA and South Korea.
Confidential can exclusively reveal that the site in question is a two-floor, 6,300 square foot spot in Bruntwood's £50 million University Green development on Oxford Road – next door to Manchester Museum.
Speaking to Confidential, a spokesperson for the ‘punk brewer’ said that the company were "still in legals", but intended to use the new Manchester site to launch its latest BrewPub – following the opening of the first such venue near London’s Tower Bridge later this month.
“The site will have an onsite brewing facility, which will allow us to produce super fresh beer that will be exclusively available in the bar,” said the spokesperson. “We will also serve a full food menu and have a load of amazing space outside.”
Should BrewDog and Bruntwood finalise the deal, the new BrewPub could be open as soon as September, joining the likes of Mowgli, Takk and Five Guys on University Green.
