IF you're weighing up your options for a birthday or anniversary dinner in Manchester, there's one place that should definitely be on your list. Hawksmoor is situated on Deansgate in a Grade II listed courthouse building – a beautiful setting that gives your gathering a real sense of occasion. Private dining is in a glass-doored room, adjacent to the main restaurant, and centred around a long oval dining table well suited to gatherings of friends and family.
Although it doesn't have a screen or projector they can hire equipment for you. And they're happy for the room to be decorated minimally.

The private dining menu features some of Hawksmoor's most popular dishes – smoked salmon with soda bread, sticky toffee pudding, and of course, their British-reared steak.
Your party chooses one mains option which is then served for the entire table to share. Choose from several different cuts of steak – including Porterhouse, Chateaubriand and Sirloin, as well as fish and vegetarian dishes. You'll be brought a selection of sides and sauces – your table will be laden with a feast of exquisite food for you all to enjoy. The starters and desserts can also be served to share, or ordered individually if you prefer.
The service is of the same high standard as the cooking. Attentive and knowledgable but not intrusive. There's no minimum spend or room hire fee, and the room is available for lunch or dinner, Monday-Sunday.
