MANCHESTER Arndale welcomed the start of term with a lock-in for students this week.

Manchester ArndaleThe centre was packed with discount-hungry freshers taking advantage of offers including, perhaps the most important of them all, an Aldi £10 off voucher.

Live music acts on the night were five-piece local band Swiss Lips playing on the main stage in Exchange Court and vocalist Ella Shaw, also from Manchester, in the food court. Jaws dropped into KFC buckets as Ella showed off her impressive range. Definitely one to watch.
