The fair’s tenth edition will bring works by a multitude of famous artists to Manchester from 27-29 October
Rare pieces from the likes of Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Banksy and LS Lowry will feature alongside a selection of up-and-coming contemporary artists at this year's Buy Art Fair at Manchester Central, 27-29 October.
The tenth edition of Buy Art Fair, the largest art fair in the north of England, will bring works by a multitude of famous artists to Manchester at the end of the month. To celebrate this milestone, the organisers have released a list of the top ten biggest names being sold at this year’s fair, along with five artists who have done something special this year.
We are all incredibly proud of how Buy Art Fair has grown over the last ten years. We’ve developed a new generation of collectors in the North who appreciate the chance to own a big name, whilst also providing a platform for up-and-coming talent.”
Since its launch in 2008, Buy Art Fair, featuring The Manchester Contemporary has sold an astonishing £3 million worth of art and has established itself as one of the top art events in the country at which to purchase sought-after works. This year the event is anticipated to attract a record 7,000 people over its three days, with pieces available from £50 to £5,000+ including paintings, photography, sculpture and prints.
Numerous internationally-renowned artists will have their work on display and available for purchase.
Damien Hirst’s silkscreen print with diamond dust, Psalm: Domini Est Terra, is exhibited by Cornish-based The Drang Gallery. Meanwhile, No Ball Games by Banksy is brought to the Fair by Mancunian exhibitor Papa’s Print Shop, and Tracey Emin’s works So I Left You and With Or Without You are offered for purchase by the Royal Academy of Arts.
Leon Martyn is exhibiting at Buy Art Fair for the first time, having relocated to Manchester with two booths showing a variety of artists selling prints and originals. He said “I am excited to bring a number of renowned contemporary artists to the Buy Art Fair including Ben Eine, Word To Mother and Pryce Lee. They will sit alongside works by established household names such as L. S. Lowry, Anthony Gormley and Barbara Hepworth.”
