FAC 51 The Haçienda was the Manchester nightclub that inspired a generation, defined the scene across the world and put dance music firmly on the map. It was the first super-club.
The party runs from 10.30pm and will see Peter Hook, Greame Park and others hot-footing it from the Hacienda Apartments
Now we're celebrating all that wit and creativity.
Confidential's involved with two events on Monday 21 May, 2012 - thirty years to the day since the famous and notorious nightclub opened. Both are in aid of music charity Nordoff Robbins.
The first sees the Hacienda return to its Whitworth Street home for a birthday bash in the car park of the Hacienda Apartments which now occupy the site.
The snag is that this has a limited guest list of 500 attendees – although there’s a sliver of a chance you can get a slice of the action with Manchester Confidential (click here).
But we have something else for you too. Something every bit as good.
For £20 (plus booking fee) you can be part of another party full of special guests and great music arranged by Nordoff Robbins in another equally evocative basement venue, Australasia - the smart and cool Deansgate nightspot.
There's a Factory family link too. It was Factory Records' designer, Trevor Johnson, who worked closely with Australasia on their graphic design.)
This party runs from 10.30pm and will see Peter Hook, Greame Park and others hot-footing it from the Hacienda Apartments after midnight to Australasia to take up the musical reins and keep things moving into the morning.
It should be a special night and a cracking party.
Loads of special guests, loads of fun, loads of memories, loads of talking hip and twisting melons, man.
