It’s a grand old building Albert’s Chop House. All polished façades, Venitian Gothic design and grand old archways. Bounding up the stately entrance stairs, you always feel like you’re heading in to something important, a do of some kind.
The red carpet helps.
It’s one of those city centre entrances at which you half suspect a pap to be waiting to bother you, looking for camel toes and nips slips and what not. Like the Midland or the glorious ascent from Australasia, it makes you feel rather, well… noteworthy I suppose.
A man of very few words, Tony prefers to let his drawings do the talking.
And that’s even if you’re just popping in for a pint of Holt's Best Bitter.

150 of the great and the good, the good and the bad, the canny and the mad, all descended on Albert’s Square Chop House last week to view and sample their new range of cocktails.
The menu of which has been illustrated by award-winning cartoonist Tony Husband.
A man of very few words, Tony prefers to let his drawings do the talking. Having won fifteen major awards and pencilled cartoons for the likes of The Sun, Private Eye, The Times and Playboy (he can draw a mean set of knockers), Albert’s Chop House brought Tony in to add a hint of humour and gravitas to their new cocktail range.
Illustrated with Husband’s trademark irreverence and absurdity, the new range includes two cocktails that are exclusive to the Chop House, the Clog and Ferret made with Manchester's-own-brand Tizer and The Princely Albert containing Port, Vodka and Chambord.
The latter explained the general lack of productivity in Confidential Towers the following day.
The trick is, load up on canapés. We’ll know next time.
