Is Frank Lane guilty of killing his wife? You decide…

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to decide someone's fate as part of a jury? Murder Trial Live may be the ticket.

This nationwide social experiment, which aims to put the UK’s judicial system to the test, sees a murder  trial unfold over the course of the evening - and you decide the outcome. On trial is Mr Frank Lane, who is accused of murdering his wife Alison on 25 March 2017. Her body has never been found.

Before the courtroom drama unfolds, attendees will enjoy a two-course meal before the defendant is called to the stand. Produced by the ITAE events group and a team of leading barristers - including the barrister behind hit Channel 4 show The Trial: A Murder in the Family - the replicated trial will take place in 40 different locations, with the potential for the same evidence to result in different verdicts.

Executive Producer and ITAE CEO Samuel Piri said: “There’s a real current appetite for crime and justice programmes at the moment and we wanted to test how fit for purpose our justice system is in this modern age.”

Piri is also the brains behind Anatomy Lab Live, the world's only live and interactive ‘dinner and dissection’ experience. During the educational event, guests can attempt surgery on the operating tables – bizarrely accompanied with a glass of Prosecco and a two-course meal. Last year, Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones invested in the company on Dragon’s Den.

Speaking about Murder Trial Live, Alex Khan - who attended a screening event earlier this year - said: “The experience was incredible, there were people who had made up their minds before they had even sat down. The whole thing is a mind game, a man’s liberty is at stake here and the weight of responsibility is huge. I began to question my own decisions.”

Murder Trial Live will take place at Village Hotel Ashton, Lord Sheldon Way, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL7 0LY from 13-14 August - tickets from £55 at themurdertriallive.co.uk
