MAKING plans for the Bank Holiday weekend? Let us point you in the direction of The North West Spring Wine Fest. It's a celebration of boutique wines in the dramatic setting of St Peter’s – a stunning deconsecrated church tucked away in Ancoats.
It takes place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May, and tickets are available for just £10 which includes your tasting glass hire and all tastings for the session! Click here.
The festival will showcase a bounty of fine and exclusive wines from the likes of hangingditch, Bakerie, Harvey Nichols, Corks Out and many more.
There'll be artisan foods from the Manchester Egg and Ginger’s ice cream van for grown-ups, amongst others.
Plus there's a programme of wine masterclasses by experts including acclaimed wine writer Simon Woods and the award-winning chefs from Aumbry. The masterclass in Japanese rice wine Sake looks like another highlight.
Walking tours exploring Ancoats 'Little Italy' heritage will take place throughout the weekend (tickets available here) and you can have a trip on Manchester’s new open top bus if you take the free shuttle service from Piccadilly Gardens to the Saturday session.
It looks set to be a beautiful, boozy Bank Holiday day out. To find out more and buy tickets, please visit North West Spring Wine Fest
