MANCHESTER'S only music composing company, The Composer Works, has moved into The Greenhouse at MediaCityUK, offering the complete composing music package for TV and film companies.
Steve has a team of nine established television and film composers, whose credits range from music for X Factor UK/USA to ITV 1’s Countrywise.
The company is led by managing director Steve Berman, whose industry experience includes working as a music editor in Hollywood and managing composers at a Pinewood Studios-based company. Steve has a team of nine established television and film composers, whose credits range from music for X Factor UK/USA to ITV 1’s Countrywise.
Talking about his new office, Steve said: “We launched in January of this year with six composers and the reception both locally and nationally so far has been encouraging, so we’ve taken on three more composers. We’ve already worked locally with CBeebies and BBC Learning/Red Productions as well as Manchester-based advertising agencies. MediaCityUK has already proved itself to be a terrific place for a fledgling company like ours to be based at.”
The Composer Works’ recent commissions have included scores for the BBC’s Blandings period drama series adapted from the PG Wodehouse books starring Timothy Spall, David Walliams and Jennifer Saunders (which broadcasts next year), ITV 1’s Surprise Surprise (theme and additional music); BSkyB’s ident music across its sports channels and the CBeebies forthcoming series, Old Jack’s Boat, starring Bernard Cribbins which was recorded with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
