THE X Factor’s December final is to be held in Manchester. This is the first year it will take place outside of London.
Bosses are bringing the live final of the ITV1 production to Manchester Central, in order to allow fans outside of the capital the chance to experience the live show.
Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome The X Factor Live Final to Manchester Central, in its first year out of London. We’re well versed in hosting prestigious, high profile events and are incredibly excited to help make this year’s final one of the most spectacular yet.”

The move comes after last year’s climax was the first to take place at Wembley Arena rather than Fountain studios, home of the show since 2004.
Judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh will all decamp to Manchester for the crowning of the winner.

Speaking ahead of series nine which begins on Saturday (18 August) Walsh said: “Our live final is going to be another major event – so The X Factor 2012 has everything. I believe it’s going to be our best series yet.”
