Try out Thali Thursdays at Lily’s Indian Vegetarian Cuisine – for free

ROLL on Thursday, when one of our Top 100 Restaurants in the North dishes up a proper treat. Thali Thursdays sees Lily’s Indian Vegetarian Cuisine serving vegetarian thali trays, the traditional Indian way.

Popular in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and other states in North India, thalis are multi-dish meals served in dinky little bowls called ‘katoris’ placed around the edge of a round tray or, in the case of Lily’s, in compartments within the tray itself. The idea is that each small dish of contrasting flavours together creates a balanced meal, colourful, flavour packed and nourishing.

Lily’s individual dishes change from week to week so each Thali Thursday brings a new taste adventure, although you can expect to enjoy homemade puri or chappati, rice, chutneys, two savouries and salad plus three different types of vegetarian curries or dhals – all made from scratch with fresh ingredients. You’ll also get to enjoy a mango or salted lassi and two sweet treats for dessert, all for £12.99pp.

That’s a tasty offer in itself, but right now Lily’s has teamed up with Confidentials to bring readers a new competition with the chance of winning two thalis, one for you and one for whoever you fancy inviting along.
