BBQ and beers at the NQ's new late night BBQ joint and bar

Ask a child to name your new bar for you, and you'll get an answer like, 'Um, Man With The Fish!' That's what happened here - the name came from the owner's young daughter. He went with it, even though it's not a fish restaurant, because daughters have that power over their Dads.  

So don't go there in search of seafood but if you're looking for premium quality barbecue eats, in a Southern US-stylee, plus a brilliant range of beers - this is your place. (You'll find it on High Street, where Walrus used to be.) 

They've partnered up with street food kitchen Love from the Streets (headed by award-winning pitmaster Jason Latham) to ensure they've got some of the best dogs, wings, and dirty fries around.

Check out the weird and wonderful sauces and rubs for the wings, for example. Raspberry and chipotle sounds like the perfect mix of smokiness and sweetness. Or how about toffee apple and jalapeño BBQ to get you in the mood for autumn?

The hot dogs are 100% beef and laden with all manner of fine-tasting extras: from Vimto onion to pineapple salsa to buttermilk chicken.

They also do full-to-bursting flat breads loaded with skin-on fries, red slaw, baby leaves, pickles, Vimto onions, chilies, sriracha pickle carrot, spring onion and coriander - and that's before you even get to the meat. We like the sound of the BBQ shawarma chicken, and the 16-hour smoked, pulled pork.

For drinks they’ve got 17 different beers on tap, and loads of bottles and cans, plus cocktails, wines and softs. Everything you might want, then. And the kitchen is open late at weekends so you can swerve the kebab shop queues and head here instead.
