IF YOU’RE looking for lunchtime inspiration or heading out after work for a few drinks and a bite to eat, then The Font is always a good bet.

This is the taste of luxury in mac’n’cheese form

Just off Oxford Road, it’s handy for buses and handy, unsurprisingly, for Oxford Road train station so it makes a great place to stop in on the way home. Unless, of course, you get too engrossed in fab cocktails and loaded fries and you decide you never want to leave.

The menu is pretty extensive so if you want a few pointers, you’re in the right place. Read on and let our Confidential guide to great ordering show you our highlights.

What's more, in November, they're doing 50% off all their food – so now is a great time to go.

Panko Goat’s Cheese Salad

Healthy and delicious, you can’t go wrong with that. It’s a salad but it’s certainly not a boring option – this is a battle of big flavours with harissa-roasted butternut squash, beetroot and Pedro Ximenez onions all accompanying the savoury goats cheese flavours.

Jerk Chicken Burrito

These mighty Mexican burritos are more of a meal than a street food snack and the jerk chicken is our personal fave. Juicy chicken thigh is seasoned with our own secret jerk mix and stuffed in a warm flour tortilla with rice and refried beans. As if all that’s enough, this beauty of a dish is served alongside street salad, nachos and sour cream and chive dip.

Kimchi The Best Gourmet Burger

If Tina Turner was hungry, she’d sing about this burger. A 6oz chuck steak and short rib beef patty is topped with homemade Korean kimchi and sriracha mayo. In our humble opinion, it’s better than all the rest. We like it with curly fries, just so you know.

Short Rib Poutine Loaded Fries

Poutine is cool right now and when you hoover up The Font’s short rib poutine loaded fries you’ll be praising those Canadians for their snack food savvy. The Font have taken the poutine and made it their own – fries topped with slow-cooked short rib, rich beef gravy and melted Bocconcini mozzarella. Delish.

The Notorious M.A.C

Notorious but in a good way, The Font’s very special Mac’n’Cheese is the pinnacle of comfort food goodness. Get that warm glow with a rich, gravy-based slow-cooked short rib mac’n’cheese made with parmesan and provolone cheeses and finished off with some truffle oil. This is the taste of luxury in mac’n’cheese form.
