VALENTINE’S weekend is fast approaching, giving us all an excuse to do something fun and frivolous with our favourite person. At the Lowry Hotel, they’ve got three ways to show your loved one they’re loved, and have a great time while you’re at it.

Valentine’s Afternoon Tea in The River Bar & Grill
If a card and cupcake won’t quite cut it, but you’re still working within a budget, this is for you. The Lowry Hotel is a five-star establishment but their Lovers’ Afternoon Tea is reasonable at £22.50pp or £33pp for the deluxe, champagne version.
Begin with gourmet sandwiches and wraps before you nibble on a selection of cakes and pastries including raspberry macaroons and white chocolate and strawberry mousse. The Champagne Afternoon Tea also includes a salmon and caviar mousse, rhubarb and custard gateaux, and a glass of Billecart-Salmon NV champagne. Both are available throughout February.
The River Bar & Grill will also be serving special Valentine’s cocktails over Valentine’s weekend.
Valentine’s Menu in The River Bar & Grill
Being treated to an extra special dinner makes everyone feel good inside. At the River Bar & Grill in the Lowry Hotel, they’ve created a luxurious menu for lovers featuring starters such as pressed Goosenargh duck with cepes, and mains such as Duet of beef roast with parsnip puree, sprouting broccoli, and hermitage glazed shallots jus. End on a divine dessert such as Passion fruit brulee with pumpkin seed craquelin.
And on the Saturday night, pianist and singer Kimm will perform for diners. The three course menu is £75 per person and is available 13-15 February. A deposit of £37.50pp is required on booking.
Valentine’s Couple’s Package at The Lowry Spa
This will really make her (or his) eyes light up. Surprise your partner with a couple’s spa package including a massage and a facial in the special Couple’s Treatment Room. It will be decorated with rose petals and candles, and there’ll be champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries to enjoy together too. Super luxurious and super relaxing, this is a lovely way to reconnect away from everyday stresses.
The package is £170 per couple and is available throughout Valentine’s weekend.
