Set in a tight-knit American-Italian neighbourhood in 1950’s Brooklyn, A View From The Bridge is one of playwright Arthur Miller’s greatest plays. It's described as a 'powerful, gripping, witty, and profoundly moving' production. This is the third Arthur Miller play directed for the Octagon by David Thacker who had a close working relationship with the playwright.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council's Central Laser Facility, home to some of the most powerful lasers in the world, will be taking control of the Platform for Investigation at the MOSI on Saturday 17 January. Witness levitating clouds, a laser that can copy a supernova, and capture light in your hands. Great one for the kiddywinks.

Known as the perenial antidote to panel games, BBC Radio 4 panel show, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, has been entertaining since 1972. The ISIHAC team are on tour a ‘best of’ version of the show, featuring regulars Graeme Garden, Barry Cryer, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Jeremy Hardy and host Jack Dee, as well as the likes of Sandi Toksvig and Rob Brydon.

MANCHESTER BEER & CIDER FESTIVAL | Manchester Velodrome | Wed 21 - Sat 25 Jan

Organisers from the Greater Manchester branches of The Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) are drafting in (gerrit?) over 500 beers, ciders and perries for this year's Manchester Beer Festival. As well as a massive selection of cask conditioned craft ales and traditional ciders & perries there will bottled and draught beers from around the world. The event will also see the return of CAMRA's real ale in a bottle bar to drink at the festival or take home.

STUART McCALLUM | Band On The Wall | Thu 22 Jan

This concert will be split over two sets. The first set will be a solo acoustic set by Stuart followed by six strings, baritone and soprano guitars, combined with loop pedals and FX. Here, Stuart will creates 'a unique trance-like soundworld combined with cathartic grandeur'.

After a brief winter break, Manchester's 'iconic bastion of electronic dance music culture' is continue to celebrate its 20th anniversary season and reopen on Friday 23 January. The opening weekend will see Irish producer Matador perform live, with support from Dutch genre-crossing maestro Legowelt. Saturday night sees Chicago native Lil’ Louis taking to the decks. This weekend will launch a run of shows for 2015.
