THURSDAY night is launch party night in Manchester.
...by the looks of the launch party, Manchester is more than ready for an all-nighter
Manchester’s deluge of new bars and restaurants has been nothing short of monumental this year, and let's face it, the lure of a few canapes, free-flowing booze and a bit of mid-week/nearly-weekend revelry is hard to resist.
Last night, Manchester welcomed three new bars and restaurants to the city's ever-expanding fold, with punters legging it between Tampopo's relaunch at the Corn Exchange, Dive's opening party in the Northern Quarter and the launch of Mount Street's new barbecue gaff, Bourbon and Black.
Here's how the night went down...
TAMPOPO | CORN EXCHANGE
As the first Manchester-based restaurant to make their home at the Corn Exchange back in 2008, the reinvented Tampopo was welcomed back with open arms last night to the recently finished £30m dining and drinking destination.
Manchester’s veteran pan asian restaurant relaunched with the help of a few familiar tele faces, including TV’s Hayley Tammadon and Ray Quinn, legendary Smiths drummer Mike Joyce and I Am Kloot’s Andy Hargreaves. Guests enjoyed bite-sized version of Tampopo’s most beloved dishes, as well as buckets of East Asian cocktails.
Open Now - 16 Albert Square, Manchester M2 5PF
DIVE NQ | NORTHERN QUARTER
New basement venue, Dive Bar, is one of the few Northern Quarter bars to be given a late license, and by the looks of the launch party, Manchester is more than ready for an all-nighter. Milton Club’s Vincent Braine and Victoria Warehouse bosses, Marius Kamara and James Cohen, are behind the new venture, which is located in the snug between Sasha's hotel and Affleck's Palace.
Open now - Tib St, Manchester, M4 1SH
BOURBON & BLACK | MOUNT STREET
Didsbury’s much loved American barbecue joint, Bourbon & Black, made their much-anticipated city centre debut on Thursday night with well, what else - a whole lot of bourbon. Based in the former Velvet site on the corner of Mount Street and Central Street, invitees were given a preview of Bourbon & Black's bigger and brighter two floor dining space.
Now open - 2 Mount Street, Manchester
