PixelPyros is a virtual pyrotechnics display projected onto a massive 60-foot wide screen using state of the art projectors and lasers. A free event taking place 6pm until 10pm on 13/14 March and placed on the Piazza at The Quays, MediaCityUK. Led by PixelPyros' BAFTA award-winning artist Seb Lee-Delisle, audiences are invited to get up close and personal with digital art by touching bright orbs of light on the screen to fire off beautiful multi-coloured rockets. Lee-Delisle will give a free, fun and interactive talk about his work at 5.30pm on Friday 13 March.
VIDEO JAM | The Lowry | Fri 13 Mar | 7pm until 10pm
Following on from the Pixelpyros event (see above), Video Jam will be carefully curating a diverse programme of artists' films plus live music and performers in an engaging and site specific club night on The Lowry's Promenade Gallery. Expect to see first works by emerging regional film talent alongside established artists. Multi-disciplinary artist, Stuart Childs, will be on hand with an innovative tech maker stall. COORS LIGHT ICE BAR | Spinningfields Square | From Fri 13 Mar -Thu 19 Mar | Free
Fancy enjoying a cold beer in even colder - 5 degree temperatures? Sure you do. American beer brand Coors Light will launch a new week-long pop-up ice bar on Spinningfields Square with the help of platinum-selling BRIT award-winners, Rudimental. The British band will play a private gig for competition winners, before the below zero boozer opens to the public between Friday 13 and Thursday 19 March. Before entering the bar guests will be wrapped up in thermal capes and gloves, designed to withstand 30 minutes in freezing temperatures. There'll also be 'interactive ice sculptures' including a life-sized snow angel.
JEKYLL AND HYDE THE MUSICAL | Z-Arts | Sat 14 Mar
Featuring well known show songs such as This is The Moment,Someone Like You and Take Me As I Am, a strong young ensemble and musical direction from experienced artistic team Dan Jarvis and Kimberly Holden, this adaptation of Jekyll and Hyde is set to be a show to remember. Manchester Musical Youth (MMY) is a new theatre company for young performers.
EMILY ALLCHURCH: IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF A MASTER | Manchester Art Gallery | Fri 13 Mar - 8 June
In what will be Allchurch's first UK solo exhibition in a public gallery, the London-based artist will use photography and a complex digital technique to recreate old master paintings. Allchurch will use French Impressionist Adolphe Valette's famous painting of Albert Square, Manchester, 1910 (see below) as the basis for a newly commissioned centrepiece, alongside Allchurch's acclaimed Tokyo Story and Tokaido Road series.

She helped women and girls affected by trafficking and sexual abuse. Her campaigns meshed with those in Manchester at the time, particularly the women’s suffrage campaign. Said to be a combination of Crystal Maze, ITV's The Cube, Prison Break, Fort Boyard, The Mole, The Amazing Race, The Great Escapeand the SAW films - so not one for the panicky or claustrophobic, then. Breakout is a live escape room game located in Manchester. You are locked in a room with friends, family or work colleagues for an hour and have to solve a series of puzzles and mysteries to escape. You have 60 minutes and will have to search high and low for clues and work together if you want to escape. There are various themes to choose from.
