Sport – Olympic Torch Relay
Olympics fever has caught on in Britain and you can witness the Olympic Torch’s arrival in Manchester this weekend. There will be a celebration at Albert Square from 3pm onwards on Saturday 23 June. The following day, the Olympic Torch heads to Old Trafford at approximately 6.15am. In celebration of this, Lancashire Cricket Club will stage ‘Good Morning Trafford’, a series of events and activities on offer from 6am – noon . Culture – Cider and Perry Festival
The Greater Manchester branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is holding a Cider and Perry Festival in the Palace Hotel from noon onwards on Friday and Saturday this weekend. There are over 40 traditional ciders and perries to choose from. Plus, there are soft drinks and food are available all day. Admission of £3 is payable on the door, £2 for CAMRA members.
