The club night targeted at people aged 50 and above is back with another evening of retro Disco, covering decades of Soul and Motown along the way. East & South East Asian Food Fair

GRUB's famous East & South East Asian Food Fair will return for 2024, treating revellers to food from five of GRUB's favourite street food vendors. 

Enjoy Malaysian dishes from Little Yellow Rice CoSouth Korean wonders from the handily named Korean Grub Club, Japanese savoury pancakes from Osaka Localas well as deep fried delights from All Fried Up. There's also sweet treats courtesy of Mary’s Cakery Makery who will be making some Eastern deserts. This event is free to attend, but be sure to bring some money along to support all these independent businesses and try their tasty cooking.

Yoga Social Club: International Women's Day Special

Women of Manchester are called upon to join together and celebrate with Yoga Social Club this International Women's Day. Expect the soothing, serene sounds of a live string quartet as you stretch out on your mat, showcasing music from female artists across the decades including Stevie NicksAretha Franklin and Lady Gaga.

Included in the two hour session is a one-hour breath work, yoga and meditation session, live music from Manchester String Quartet, an hour of networking and wine (alcohol free versions also available) and a goody bag.

Manchester Song Festival Workshop Day

Manchester Song Festival returns to the Stoller Hall, running from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 March. On Saturday 2 however, there will be a full day of workshops from vocal health to voice anxiety, songwriting to musical theatre, and even voice coaching in opera. There's a workshop for all interests, running from 10am into the evening. 

All abilities welcome. Under 18s can participate with an accompanying adult.

Stories of Women, Work and Uncertain Futures

The third, and concluding, exhibition of Uncertain Futures, a collaborative work combining art, research and activism that spans five years, this exhibition explores paid and unpaid work by women over 50. 

Focusing on gender, age, race, disability, class and migration, women from Manchester have worked with US artist Suzanne Lacy in an effort to create civic change and affect social policy. This free exhibition arrives on 8 March as a fitting tribute to International Women's Day and will stay put at Manchester Art Gallery until the start of next year.
