THE ROLLING STONE | The Royal Exchange | Until 1 May

The Royal Exchange presents The Rolling Stone, a hard-hitting play exploring homosexuality, set in the backdrop of Uganda - where the consequences can be violent and explosive. A Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting winner in 2013, The Rolling Stone will play alongside Anna Karenina, drawing from some of the same cast and creative team telling these two very different stories of lovers at odds with their society.

The Manchester Golf Show is designed to provide an interactive experience for golfers of all ages. The weekend will include informed expert advice, free PGA tuition, a massive indoor driving range, custom fitting, club testing, simulators and the latest golf gadgets. The show is also supported by some of the biggest and best household names in golf.

 

MEALS ON WHEELS EXHIBITION | Kosmonaut | Thu 23 - Sun 24 May

Artists Generic Greeting, WONDERHAUS and Tashatime aim to bring together the heart and soul of the Northern Quarter with a collaborative exhibition at Kosmonaut. Armed with reclaimed skateboards as their canvas, Northern Quarter shops and cafes including Koffee Pot, McCalls, Oklahoma and V Revolution have teamed up with Dia Artio to design and create customised artwork upon their own skateboard deck, which will adorn the bare brick walls of Kosmonaut. Entitled 'Meals On Wheels', the exhibition will celebrate the voice of neighborhood eateries and raise awareness of the Manchester based Breakfast in Bed Street Life Project.

THE SPALDING SUITE | Contact Theatre | Until Sat 25 April | £15 

A new physical theatre show inspired by the UK's basketball sub-culture comes to Contact Theatre. Seen from a British perspective, The Spalding Suite gets to the heart and soul of the game and delves into the hopes and dreams of those who play it. Six dynamic performers mix live beatboxing, Hip-Hop, music, moves and poetry, taking the audience from the fleeting high of the score and the robust camaraderie of the team, to the poignant lows of a body too worn to play the game.

BRIT-Award and three time Mercury Prize nominee Laura Marling is to play Albert Hall this Friday. The celebrated singer - who recently relocated to LA, then re-relocated back to London - has just released her fifth studio album.
