What to do when your cake has eyes

WANT to do something fun for Halloween? And eat exceptionally good cakes at the same time? Then take a look at The Lowry Hotel's devilishly decadent Halloween Afternoon Tea.

It begins with classic sandwiches such as coronation chicken and cress, and Lancashire cheese and sweet pickle. So far, so PG-rated. It's the sweet treats that take things into the realm of the horror film.

One of the cakes has eyes. Another one is an eye. It's watching you: better eat it quick before you start thinking it blinked.

And what exactly is that red stuff oozing out of the middle? Tastes like...raspberry. And white chocolate. The devil gets all the best food.

There's also a gravestone brownie. What a way to go. And a pumpkin pie with an ectoplasmic whipped cream spook hovering over it. Get a photo for Instagram before it mysteriously vanishes into thin air (or into your mouth).

If you love celebrating Halloween, why not do something a little bit special this year? Gather your coven at The Lowry Hotel for an afternoon of gothic glamour and gorgeous food.

The Halloween Afternoon Tea at The Lowry Hotel is £29.50 or £33 with prosecco. Kids Halloween Afternoon Tea is free with a paying adult valid from 20/10/18 - 31/10/18.

It's available every day throughout October.
