THE FOOTAGE pub on Oxford Road, owned by The Stonegate Pub Company, is to relaunch on Saturday 13 September following a reported £360k investment.

Management of the 620-capacity student favourite, situated in the Grade I listed former Grosvenor Picture Palace cinema (opened in 1915), hope that the pub will become a 'one-stop shop' for students and workers along the city's 'Knowledge Corridor' - running from St Peter’s Square to Whitworth Park along Oxford Road through University campuses.
Opening from 8am until late, the reinvigorated pub will offer customers free super-fast broadband, complimentary wifi-linked printing and built-in plugs and USB ports on tables for charging computers and phones.
The refurbed pub will also see a new 'Secret DJ' feature installed, an interactive jukebox system that allows the customer to digitally select a track via phone without ever having to lift a cheek.

Hopping on Britain's rising thirst for craft beer, The Footage will offer five regularly rotating craft beers on tap with customers given the option of a three beer slider (three 1/3 pint glasses of different beers). There'll be a few casks thrown in for good measure alongside a lengthy cocktail menu.
Grub will be standard bankable student fare: bacon butties, dogs, burgers, chilli, fish and chips, mac and cheese and unreasonably hot sauces to splash across the lot.
There'll be a relaxation area upstairs with comfy seating across a large balcony, whilst downstairs will feature a dedicated sports area with two large drop down screens and a further sixteen TVs dotted around the venue.

“The Footage is such a well-known pub in Manchester. It’s huge with a capacity for 620 customers and so the investment has given us a big opportunity to create something new and fresh in the marketplace and I’m looking forward to showcasing it to our existing and new customers.”
Doors will reopen on Saturday 13 September at 5pm.
