The Dockyard has opened at MediaCityUK.
As the Dockyard is a freehouse there will be a constantly changing range of guest ales from local brewers and microbrewers.
The new pub/bar is operated by Steve Pilling and Simon Stanley who not only have Damson restaurant close by the new venue but also a sister Damson restaurant in Heaton Moor and the Red Lion pub in High Lane. In autumn 2014 they will open a city centre restaurant on Deansgate in the former courthouse building on the fringe of Spinningfields.
With a capacity of up to 200 people and a strictly no bookings ethos the team are expecting the venue in the heart of MediaCity to be busy from day one.
A sparse, timber and metal interior befitting the Dockyard name and Manchester's industrial history, looks on to the gardens in front of the tram station and towards The Lowry and Imperial War Museum North.
The pub/bar will lead with the drinks offering, serving an array of keg and cask ales, pale ales, beers and ciders, as well as a broad wine list. Fine wine will be served in carafes at prices such as £7.50, as well as by the bottle.
