SELFRIDGES Trafford has opened a new Alchemist bar in store.
"There is nothing in a glass more versatile. Sour, savoury, sweet or boozy. Bitter, spicy, dry or smoky."
The unit has been designed to 'evoke the art deco period - the true age of the cocktail.'
Akin to the Leeds Alchemist, opened back in April 2013 in the £350m Trinity Leeds shopping complex, the Trafford Centre Alchemist will be hoping to draw in weary-legged shoppers for some welcome respite.
Opening in 2010, The Alchemist has become a Manchester cocktail institution. The first bar to open in what was previously a dry Spinningfields business district, the bar paved the way for all the bars and restaurants that have passed since.
Success soon spread to New York Street, when operator Living Ventures opened the second Alchemist, Leeds Trinity soon followed, now eyes are trained on the capital, where the group have recently established a Alchemist London at Bevis Marks, right by The Gherkin.
Operations Manager Mark Burville said:
“Cocktails are the very pinnacle of the sophisticated drinking experience. There is nothing in a glass more versatile. Sour, savoury, sweet or boozy. Bitter, spicy, dry or smoky. Like our mixologists, our cocktails are adaptable and innovative and will be a perfect fit in the high-end surroundings of Selfridges.”
Selfridges Trafford Alchemist will open daily on the Lower Ground floor.
