CHECK your watch. Nope. It isn’t April’s Fools yet is it? Didn’t think so.
The holes aren’t just fun to play, they look fantastic and really enhance the estate
In which case, Spinningfields must really be building a nine hole mini golf course called The Tee Party.
Launching on 14 April, the ‘garden-games themed’ course will see players weave their way around the estate from The Avenue through Hardman Square and down to the river at Leftbank.
In a canny piece of marketing, each of the holes will be sponsored by one of the estate’s best-known clients such as JMW, Tattu and (fingers crossed) Greggs – where players will aim to guide their Scotch Egg around an assemblage of lava-hot sausage rolls, burnt pizza and icky sticky yumyums.
The game – a temporary installment through the jam-packed spring and summer sports calendar - will cost a fiver (£3 deposit) and include club hire and scorecards collected from newly announced Club House sports bar on The Lawns, well, what's left of 'em.
Luisa d’Aprano, Head of Marketing for Spinningfields, said: “With so much world-class sport this summer we wanted to offer a great destination to enjoy sport and have fun. The holes aren’t just fun to play, they look fantastic and really enhance the estate, adding some much needed greenery for the summer months.”
The Tee Party will be open until 30 May from 12pm to 8pm, Wednesday to Sunday, as well as bank holidays. There will be a maximum of six players per group and there is no need to book in advance.
