The fine dining favourite, which opened last spring, has been recognised as the UK’s top restaurant of 2025
Skof is the first restaurant from chef Tom Barnes who, as head chef at Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume, helped it win its third Michelin star.
Since opening on Manchester’s Hanover Street back in May of last year, the fine dining destination has received a great response from diners and critics alike, earning prestigious accolades - including its first Michelin star, awarded this February - and resulting in months-long waiting lists for those hoping to bag a table.
To add another well-deserved feather to Skof’s ever-growing hat, it was announced last night (Monday 22 September) that the venue has been awarded AA’s Restaurant of the Year alongside three rosettes.
Tom has since taken to social media to share their achievement, writing: ‘This really is such a wonderful way to be recognised for what we do at Skof. I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in such a short space of time. ‘These moments mean so much, not just because of the awards themselves, but because they reflect the community around us here in Manchester. From our regulars to first-time diners, we feel so lucky to welcome you each evening.’
The post ends by hinting that there’s plenty more in the pipeline for this young, successful venue, concluding with: ‘And there’s a lot of exciting things to come in the Skof story…’
