The Northern Quarter favourite has been recognised for its authentic, quality, traditional Italian cuisine
Last night (Wednesday 30 April), popular Northern Quarter independent restaurant Sicilian NQ was presented with the Marchio Ospitalità Italiana award by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK (ICCIUK).
Known and loved for its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, Sicilian NQ is a neighbourhood bistro and bar that offers a true taste of traditional Sicily in Manchester, serving everything from authentic street food snacks through to big plates of pasta to desserts and gelato, available to eat in or take away.

The Marchio Ospitalità Italiana Award is a distinguished recognition for establishments that uphold the highest standards of authenticity, quality and tradition in Italian cuisine. Established by the Italian Government, this mark of excellence honours restaurants that authentically represent Italian cuisine and hospitality here in the UK.

The award was presented at the bustling, atmospheric Northern Quarter restaurant in true Italian style with owners Carmen Andre and Claudio Vitale surrounded by their friends, family and loyal regular customers who had come to join in the celebrations.
Over the course of the evening, guests were invited to taste Sicilian wines from Valle dell’Acate winery (offered by La Dispensa) and sample a range of Sicilian street food prepared by Sicilian NQ before seeing the Ospitalità Italiana certification plaque being presented.
Co-owner Claudio Vitale said: “[This award] is a great opportunity for us, we’re very pleased to receive it.”
