Dive, one of the best places to watch sport in Manchester, is gearing up for this summer’s bulging sporting calendar with a new food and drink menu based around sharing. This relaxed sub-basement venue has a fully stocked bar with a brand new cocktail menu featuring Boilermakers, classic cocktails, dessert cocktails, boozy milkshakes, shots and sharers. A few of the cocktails like Jungle Juice (featuring a whole bottle of Prosecco) and the Hoodoo Voodoo (Bourbon, lime and fruit juices) actually come supersized in huge ice buckets, so up to eight of you can grab a colour coded straw and slurp your way through it without even taking your eyes off one of the many TV screens. You never have to miss a shot – on the screen or off it!

Foodwise, you and your friends can now help yourselves to communal sharing buckets of chicken wings marinated in either Tabasco and Honey, Dive BBQ, Garlic & Parmesan, or – because fortune favours the brave, Suicide Sauce. But you don’t just have to stick to wings, choose 1/4, ½ or even a whole chicken lovingly marinated in your choice of sauce. If the mood takes you, just go all Henry VIII on a whole ‘beer can’ chicken roasted upright so it stays deliciously moist, American BBQ cooking at its best. Pimp up the protein with sides such as Blackened Corn, Red Slaw, Onion Rings or Sweet Potato Wedges and you’ve got yourselves a sharing feast. If chicken with bones is not for you, then stick to a platter of Boneless Bites with dipping sauce which come in portion sizes between six and 48!

Dive have even worked out a way to share burgers (removing the hardship of having to choose) with their Trio of Burgers – a sharing board piled high with your choice of three of Dive’s delicious burger range including The Original, Southern Fried Chicken, Carolina Classic, Swine Burger or Bean Burger all cut in half so you can all mix and match. If you’re planning on settling in for extra time and penalties, you might need to pace yourselves with a rolling programme of light bites such as Jalapeno Poppers stuffed with four cheeses, BBQ bacon balls or Pan Fried Shrimp with Jalapeno Mayo. Otherwise there are Clubs, Subs, Salads, Sliders, Nachos or Tacos for you and your mates to munch your way through.

No need to be bitter if your sweepstake team get knocked out of Euro 2016 in the early stages, just drown your sorrows with one of Dive’s ridiculously indulgent Boozy Shakes. You’re definitely going to need to take the edge off any nervous energy by diving into a Candy Mountain with Crème De Framboise or a Salted Caramel Brownie with Jamesons. With Dive’s fantastic range of milk shakes and boozy shakes you probably won’t need desserts....Only kidding, they’ve gone all out on the playful puds. They’re not playing games here. Can you handle the challenge of a Pancake Stack or S’More Sundae?

So if you’re looking for a highly recommended place to park yourselves over the sporting summer to watch the action whilst getting truly well fed and watered, grab your friends, head to the northern quarter and Dive in. Although it’s more than likely you’ll have to crawl out.
