VICTORIA BECKHAM, Givenchy, Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent and Valentino are just few of the leading designer names on display at Selfridges Exchange Square’s brand new (and massive) shoe department. With almost 1000 shoe options - from skyscraper high heels to the latest trainers - it's the largest in the UK outside Selfridges Oxford Street, London.
The new and improved department also boasts diamanté encrusted Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boots, priced at a wallet-strangling £3,500 (ouch).
A bigger and better shoe department has meant a big splurge from Selfridges. The department store is spending £3m to transform its womenswear floor in Manchester, with two new boutiques from Céline and Balenciaga.
The newly unveiled shoe department is the start of a grand womenswear re-development.
And it's impressive.

New boutiques from Givenchy, Valentino and Jimmy Choo grace the extended floor, while fans of the coveted red sole stiletto can enjoy the new 'World Of Louboutin' boutique which includes both men and women’s fashion, shoes and beauty.
Selfridges biggest seller, the patent 'rockstudded' Valentino pumps, take centre stage as the biggest Valentino collection in the North West. Averaging around the £600 mark they've been sported by Alexa Chung, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria and the Kardashian clan. The celebrity endorsed shoes don't stop there, with a candy-heeled lacy number worn by Katy Perry.
Rich in designer names, prices can reach staggering heights.

Those with more high street sensibilities and a more modest budget can enjoy the large Kurt Geiger London and KG by Kurt Geiger range with an impressive collection of stand out party-heels.
Priciest heels in store - Giuseppe Zanotti (£3,500) It's certainly steeped in luxury and will surely inspire heel lovers to recite Carrie Bradshaw style monologues about 'preferring shoes to meals'. It certainly looks good, but what does having the 'biggest department in the north west' mean for Manchester's retail industry?
