San Carlo Group has revealed their fourth Manchester-based venue, the second in Selfridges, Farmacia Del Dolce (Chemist of Desserts). The latest venture follows on from the launch of Bottega, in October on the second floor of Selfridges. Bottega is shown on the picture above.

Quite different to any of our existing restaurants, Farmacia allows us to have a little fun with food, fun with the emphasis still firmly on great food in relaxed and enjoyable, individually designed surroundings

Farmacia Del Dolce will serve a combination of all day brunch, mains, sandwiches and afternoon teas as well as a 'luxury' range of gelatos and speciality desserts.

The dessert menu features macaroons, gateaux slices, lemon meringue pie, cheesecakes, tiramisu, fruit tarts, cupcakes and mille feuille and luxury ice cream. There are speciality creations such as meringue and marshmallow, jelly and ice cream, chocolate nut and lemon swizzle.

Mains include mussels marinière with papatine fritte, ravioli lobster, Crespelle pancakes filled with ricotta and spinach as well signature salads, including Caprese mozzarella, avocado and tomato with pesto dressing, tuna nicoise and beetroot and goats cheese.

Commenting on the forthcoming opening, Marcello Distefano, managing director of San Carlo Group, said: “We’ve been blown away by the incredible start Bottega has made, now we’re excited to unveil our latest exclusive concept for Selfridges. Quite different to any of our existing restaurants, Farmacia allows us to have a little fun with food.”

Farmacia Del Dolce opens 10am-8pm Monday to Friday, 9am-8pm on Saturdays and from 11am–5.30pm on Sundays. The dessert shown on this page is one from sister-restaurant Cicchetti.
