Rigoletto and Madama Butterfly are the latest productions from Ellen Kent, who has seen success with her recent tours of Nabucco, Aida, and La Bohème. All soloists in Kent's performances are renowned international performers, specifically chosen and directed by the producer herself.
International baritone, Vladimir Dragos, stars in Rigoletto, a show that's full of dramatic flair. Based on a play by Victor Hugo (Les Misèrables, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and composed by Verdi, the production reflects the depravity of Mantua's court with seductive naked chorus girls, a magnificent golden eagle and two hunting dogs.
International Korean soprano Elena Dee leads the cast in Madame Butterfly, Puccini’s popular tale on which the hit West End musical Miss Saigon is based. Her emotional portrayal of Mimi in Ellen Kent’s recent La Bohème received high praise.
Madama Butterfly is the story of a beautiful Japanese girl who falls in love with an American naval lieutenant, resulting in heartbreaking drama. This production features exquisite sets, including a spectacular Japanese garden and fabulous costumes including antique wedding kimonos from Japan. Highlights of the performance include the melodic Humming Chorus, the moving aria One Fine Day and the unforgettable Love Duet.
