Individual Restaurant Company is due to hear later this month from the planning committee of Manchester City Council whether it can add two new roof terraces to Restaurant Bar & Grill in John Dalton Street.

Two separate applications were submitted by IRC's planning adviser Ludlam Associates for the extensions to the restaurant.

One is for a enclosed roof terrace with retractable awning to provide additional floor space for the existing restaurant and the replacement of existing plant room and flue. The architect is Robert Angell in London.

The second is for a first floor terrace and awnings above the Panacea bar off John Dalton Street. The architect is DGA in Shrewsbury.

The date for the planning decision is 23 July. IRC operates the Restaurant Bar & Grill, Piccolino, Zinc Bar & Grill and Bank concepts.

The group is also expanding Piccolino off Albert Square into the former Ego unit next door. The group plans to open six new sites a year and typically spends £1m on each fit-out.

No one from IRC was available for comment.
