THE LOVELY Rob from Yorkshire-based wine supplier Buon Vino was the host and a very charming host he turned out to be, putting plenty of sparkle into the affair. Or was that the delicious range of Prosecco we were tasting, all wines new to the Manchester market?
As well as supplying the wines at Per Tutti, Buon Vino is also wine supplier to Kosmonaut and The French so we were certainly in good hands. We indulged in five different glasses:
- Prosecco sottoriva col fondo NV
- Prosecco sottoriva senza solfiti 2012
- Prosecco frozza 2013 (organic)
- Prosecco bellenda san fermo 2012
- Prosecco goria malibran
They were all a pleasure on the palate but each one had its own distinct personality with notes of pear, citrus tones and clean, refreshing flavours.
It’s no good drinking on an empty stomach but Per Tutti had thoughtfully provided some rather moreish nibbles. The scallop ceviche was very popular and the pork belly and papaya went down a treat. Let’s be honest, they were all lovely but my vote goes to the mozzarella with peach, chilli and almond.
The event was held in the main restaurant and there was a great atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and, what’s more, when it had finished, James Ball (Follow James on twitter @thebeardband), the house singer struck up. It had been such a good evening, no one wanted to call it a day. In fact, most people stayed on, drinking, eating and enjoying a thoroughly good night out.
These wine tastings are set to become regular events, the next one will be on Thursday 12 June. To be one of the first to find out more fill in the form below.
