THE Piccadilly Street Food Market has made Piccadilly Gardens a decent place in the city centre to pick up quality food. Now there’s going to be a ‘Food Friday Market’ and a Saturday ‘Craft Market’.
Highlights include Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire Cheese, handmade Japanese cakes and desserts from Sweet Octopus plus Mrs Shah’s Food Company's aromatic curry.
The council says these are two new markets but actually they just make a single more varied one. All the better.
Food Friday will see artisan food stalls with highlights including Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire Cheese, handmade Japanese cakes and desserts from Sweet Octopus plus Mrs Shah’s Food Company's aromatic curry spice mixes – made from a family recipe.
Piccadilly Gardens will also host Craft Saturday, running alongside the Street Food Market. Craft Saturday will bring a wide selection of local art, crafts and gifts. There will be wooden animal cravings by Wooden Ducks, scarves from Edie O’Hara Designs and recycled sculptures by Metal Art Productions plus hand-made candles from RJS.
Piccadilly Street Food takes place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11am to 5.30pm.
Food Friday and Craft Saturday will run alongside Piccadilly Street Food every week.
