FRESH from her extremely popular and influential reading of Shelley's The Masque of Anarchy Maxine Peake will be reading the names of those who died at Peterloo at the annual Peterloo Commemoration on Friday 16 August.
This solemn and moving event will begin 1pm sharp under the red Peterloo Plaque on the front of the Free TradeHall (now the Radisson Edwardian Hotel), and end with the laying of a wreath. The campaign invites all those attending to bring their own flowers and tokens to lay.
The following Sunday 18 August, 12-3pm, the People's History Museum will host a Peterloo Commemoration Design Day inviting the public to work with their team of 'tame artists' to say what they think an appropriate memorial should look like.
