Frank Ocean, Fatboy Slim and The 1975 will headline this summer’s Heaton Park festival

R&B trailblazer, Frank Ocean, will headline Manchester’s Parklife festival at Heaton Park in June, after mysterious posters alluding to his Ocean's single, Nikes, began popping up across the city in December.

Ocean - who will play the mainstage on Sunday night - is joined in the big slots by veteran DJ Fatboy Slim, Mercury Prize-nominated Cheshire rockers The 1975 (who headline the main stage on Saturday), legendary hip-hop collective A Tribe Called Quest, Grammy Award-winning Jess Glynne and disco icon Chaka Khan.

Other notable acts include Boy Better Known, Two Door Cinema Club, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Chaka Khan, George Ezra, Carl Cox, Damian Marley, Jamie Jones, London Grammar, Pete Tong, Wiley, Seth Troxler and experimental US producer Flying Lotus – who’ll be showcasing his pioneering 3D show.

Parklife boss, Sacha Lord, told Confidential: "Every year we are proud that we can put the spotlight on Manchester, but this year we think it's going to be something really special. Personally, I can't wait to see A Tribe Called Quest - these hip-hop legends are a major coup."

General entry tickets cost £59.50 for the day/£96.50 for the weekend, whilst access to the Planet VIP area – which this year carries a ‘Return to New York’ theme with special performances, secret spaces and live art battles – will cost £85 for the day/£125 for the weekend.

Parklife tickets will go on general sale via Skiddle and Ticketmaster from 9am on Thursday 2 February. Those who registered for pre-sale will be able to buy tickets from 9am on Wednesday 1 February.
