With his second cookbook, A Taste of Home, Olivier Troalen, chef-proprietor of acclaimed French restaurant La Boheme, in Lymm, is on a mission to shake the reputation of his nation’s cuisine for being inseparable from fine dining and classical techniques and show people what French cooking is really about – the food that French people enjoy at home every day. He does this by providing more than 90 recipes, spanning over 200 pages, for the sorts of dishes that you will find on dinner tables across France. Each one is accompanied by an introduction from Olivier about its origins and inspirations and illustrated with beautiful photography.
Earlier this year, hundreds of people pledged to support the book’s publication via a crowdfunding campaign, which raised over £30,000. In return, the supporters’ names are printed in the book and they receive a signed copy.
