Often, the best places are tried and tested - that's why they're still around - so there might not be a news article or review for a long time. We regularly get phone calls from our readers, asking for advice on where's good to go for special occasions, particular food requirements, dog-friendliness etc. and we wanted to build a searchable database for readers to browse in their own time.

The ConfidentialGuides.com directory does not intend to be exhaustive. We only include venues we believe provide a quality experience. Inclusion is based on the knowledge of our passionate local food writers – and the directory is constantly growing.

Our main requirement is first-rate food but we may also include venues that we think offer an enjoyable experience in other ways; for example through great entertainment.
