WITH a rash of bars and eateries emerging around the ‘Southern Quarter’, five year old, old-timer Odder, not wanting to be left behind, is upping its game.
It has created a new space upstairs, christened ‘The Function Room’, which officially opens on Saturday 15 September. The opening night will showcase DJs from 10:30pm-4am.
"Understanding that there is more to a club than décor, a confirmed line up of nights from some of the city’s best loved promoters has been announced."
The metamorphosis of the room has ironed the once curved bar and moved it to the other side of the venue. In order to make the room better suited to club nights and live music, the oversized booths have been removed, which opens up a bigger space without demolishing the intimate feel. A stage, a raised DJ booth and lined seating adds a crowd centric atmosphere.
The hoards of elephantine timepieces and eclectic world trinkets which once adorned the walls have been replaced with lashings of polished steel and roller shutters giving the room a raw industrial feel.
Understanding that there is more to a club than décor, a confirmed line up of nights from some of the city’s best loved promoters has been announced.
The teams behind Clique, Thick as Thieves, Selective Hearing, Consortium and Pop Til You Drop ensure that The Function Room will be one to watch, making Odder as essential as ever.
