THE New World Trading Company (NWTC), the operator behind Manchester’s Oast House and Botanist bars, scored a double win on Tuesday at the 25th annual Publican Awards – the biggest night in the UK pub industry calendar.
The awards round-off a bumper twelve months for NWTC
The prestigious event, hosted by comedian Michael McIntyre in London’s Battersea Evolution, saw the Living Ventures offshoot pick up both the ‘Best Small Employer’ and ‘Best Managed Operator (2-50 sites)’ awards, fighting off competition from BrewDog, Arc Inspirations, Oakman Inns and many more leading UK operators.

The awards round-off a bumper twelve months for NWTC, having bagged a further two Publican Awards last year, as well as being placed 20th in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 in December.
NWTC employs staff across a total of fourteen sites including nine Botanists, two Trading Houses, The Oast House, The Smugglers Cove and the newly opened Club House in Liverpool.
Though the future of Manchester's hugely popular Oast House is currently in doubt after Spinningfields chief Mike Ingall revealed new plans to replace the pub with a hyper-modern Levitt Bernstein-designed building named ‘The Skirt’ - read about it here.
