WHISKY lovers: clear your diary on Sunday 5 June (and schedule in some recovery time on Monday 6 June as well). The Whiskey Jar in the Northern Quarter is hosting its first Whisky Festival
There'll be big name brands as well as smaller independents – if your drinks cupboard needs restocking, you'll have plenty to choose from here.
With over 300 whiskies to buy and try, plus talks and masterclasses from a host of whisky industry professionals, it's not-to-be-missed if you're a fan of the dram.
There'll be free samples and a free glass, masterclasses, food stalls and a bar specialising in ingenious whisky cocktails. Live music will add to the festival atmosphere.
Tickets are £25 and include your own whisky tasting glass and four 20ml samples covering Scotch, Irish, American and Bourbon, and World whisky.
The festival is a chance to discover new and rare whiskies, meet fellow whisky enthusiasts, and learn more about the world of whisky distilling and drinking. There are two sessions: daytime (12 noon until 4.30pm) and evening (5.30pm to 9.30pm). The festival will take place at The Whiskey Jar, on Tariff Street in the Northern Quarter.
