FANS of street markets are in luck – outdoor trading will now take place every Saturday across Manchester thanks to a new one starting up in Levenshulme.
Levenshulme Street Market will be on the fourth Saturday of the month in the railway station car park, just off Albert Road, starting on May 26.
The market will be full of local traders offering some of the finest foods
Stalls will offer specialist foods, crafts, clothing and entertainment in the heart of Levenshulme, which organisers say will create a 'vibrant' and 'unmissable' market experience.
The food available will include fresh fruit and vegetables, local butchers' and deli stalls offering a selection of fine cheeses and chocolate. Children's activities and an entertainment tent will also feature.
Councillor Bernard Priest, Manchester City Council executive member for neighbourhood services, said: "Levenshulme market will be a must visit location for any savvy shopper in South Manchester. The market will be full of local traders offering some of the finest foods and it’s certain to have a wonderful lively atmosphere."
The market will be open from 9am until 4pm. Other street markets across Manchester are held in Northenden, Withington and Chorlton on the first, second and third Saturday of the month respectively.
