IT'S the UK’s leader for outdoor fitness, so it’s no wonder British Military Fitness is expanding even further this summer.

With local sessions already being held at Bruntwood Park, Wythenshawe Park, Sale Water Park, Platt Fields and Stamford Park, to name but a few, BMF has this week announced a new venue to begin in July at The Carrs Park in Wilmslow.

Classes at Carrs Park will run weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. The first class will take place on Tuesday 2 July at 7pm. The Thursday classes will take place at 7pm and the Saturday morning class will begin at 10am.

The mud, sweat and tears theme of the sessions are all too well known, yet the gruelling hour-long sessions remain a popular way to workout. That could be down to BMF’s confidence in the belief they can burn two million calories this summer.

So what does two million calories equate to?

To give you an idea: 30,000 slices of white bread, 16,000 glasses of wine, 8,000 sausages,  2,092 chips, 14,388 cans of cola and 4,762 quarter pound hamburgers.

Rob Love, Managing Director of British Military Fitness said: “People in the North West love our classes. By popular demand we will launch our ninth venue in Julu at Carrs Park – offering classes seven days a week across the city. British Military Fitness works hard to ensure that every class is enjoyable with members pushing themselves to take on different activities and exercises. We can’t wait to see more people joining us and becoming more active this summer.”
